One to One Trumpet/Trombone Lessons in Bristol.
For children and young people.
With a background of over 25 years of professional teaching and performing experience, I teach the individual with specific teaching programmes whether it be Jazz, Latin, Classical, World Music etc.I 've helped many of my students get into world renowned music teaching institutions, including Trinity, UF - School of Music - College of the Arts, University of the Arts Cuba (ISA), Appalachian State University Boone, USA and others.
Specializing in performance and theory in Classical music, I focus on technical resources and cover all stylistic periods, with works by composers from the Baroque to the most contemporary. I am also a specialist in improvisation, theory and interpretation of jazz and all its trends.
As a teacher of Brass for the local authority music services (North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Council), I have a thorough knowledge of the syllabus in place, which makes me well qualified to guide students to meritorious achievement in passing the grade examinations which govern music teaching in the UK, having taken students through grades one to eight in the Trinity, Guildhall and ABRSM examinations with successful results.
Having taught university students, I also understand the university entrance examination process, knowing what the leading institutions expect of those students seeking to further their musical education at the highest level.
I also teach children and young people interested in experiencing their musical possibilities through the trumpet or trombone, without committing to plans to complete any degrees.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate.
I provide some methods and study books that may be needed for students.
